Faith Formation

Youth Ministry:

All Human Beings are born with a Spiritual yearning, that part of us that is made in God’s own image. Our weekly program for grades K-9th grade strengthens the parents’ role in passing their Catholic Faith on to their children.

Recognizing that some parents may need a little help, we also offer ongoing opportunities for faith sharing through Bible Study and Adult Faith Formation.

Religious Education Faith Formation Sessions

From 8:15 to 9:45 Sunday mornings in the Faith Formation Center [Regular attendance of Sunday Mass is included ] The session are from September through May

The Religious Ed Faith Formation Office sponsors several trip and outings throughout the year including a Back to School Picnic and End of Academic Year Trip.  These outings are free to participants of the Faith Formation and Sacramental Prep programs. Also with the assistance of our sister parish Saint Andrew by the Bay, we provide school supplies to the children of the parish at the beginning of the school year.

Parents, Guardians and Family

You the Parents, Guardians and Family have the primary duty and responsibility of teaching your child. We will strive together toward a goal of each child knowing and remembering the very basic truths of our Catholic faith. Together we will increase our knowledge, love and service to God and our parish family.

Young People Participating in the Faith Community

Our young people are Altar Servers, Ushers, Archdiocesan Youth Advisory Council Representatives, and have answered the call to Catechesis by teaching Sunday School, acting as Peer Ministers and working with Vacation Bible School.

Faith Formation Mission Statement:

The mission of the Faith Formation program at Transfiguration Catholic Community is to look upon each child as created in the image and likeness of God and as a reflection of his goodness. Being a living witness to the gospel will be central to the development of each student. Therefore at Transfiguration learning about Jesus and his message is essential to knowing him, loving him and serving him always. With core elements of a Catholic Christian foundation being the strength of the Faith Formation Program at Transfiguration your child will grow in the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ our Lord Savior.

Sacramental Preparation

In an effort to deepen their awareness and understanding of the sacraments each child receives specific instruction in the sacrament that they are preparing to receive.  Each sacrament is reinforced with instruction on our baptism promise, the Eucharist as the true presences of the body of Christ, the redeeming grace of God’s mercy in the sacrament of reconciliation and the knowledge of the seven gifts of the spirit in our confirmation calling.
